NARSA have been using the Norbreck Castle Hotel as their venue for the annual NARSA event since 1998. Below is some information about the hotel.
History
It was originally built as a private country house in 1869, it later expanded into a grand hotel known as the Norbreck Hydro with ballrooms, pool and extensive leisure facilities. During World War II it was used by the British government, then returned to hotel use after 1951.
Location
The Norbreck Castle Hotel is a massive seafront hotel on Queens Promenade in Blackpool, Lancashire, overlooking the Irish Sea. It is operated by Operated by Britannia Hotels and popular with big groups, events, conventions and budget holidaymakers. It’s located on the quieter North Shore, with good tram access to central Blackpool attractions.
Accommodation / Food and Drink
The Hotel has around 480–487 bedrooms, many with sea views and en-suite facilities. Rooms usually include tea/coffee making facilities, TV and work desk.
Note on quality: Reviews are mixed—some guests find the rooms dated or poorly maintained, while others appreciate the value for money.
Two main restaurants (including Castles Restaurant) serving breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style. There are several bars on site, such as the Conservatory Bar and Copper Face Jack’s Bar (sports bar), and also the Java Lounge café bar for coffees and light bites.
